USPTA Professional Rick Palmer is an associate pro for Springtown Racket Club in Newtown Square, Pa., and tennis director for Pennypacker Country Club in Downingtown, Pa.
He previously worked for Chester Valley Country Club, East Whiteland Swim and Tennis, Great Valley Racquet Club, Immaculata College, Kennett High School, Conestoga High School, Lionville Nautilus and Tennis, and West Chester University. Outside of tennis, he also worked for Wyeth Labs for seven years as a computer operator and programmer.
Rick attended Penn State-Delaware County Campus, and Marywood College, earning an associate degree in business. He is a member of the USTA and USRSA. He was named the Central League Coach of the Year and Middle States High School Coach of the Year. He competes in Middle States tournaments.
“I love the game and enjoy helping others enjoy the game, too,” he says. “The best part of teaching is the satisfaction of seeing students get better.”
Rick’s areas of expertise are teaching, coaching and communicating with his students.
He says that his greatest accomplishment is knowing that people come to him to improve their game and because they know he cares.
Rick and his wife, Trish, have a son, Alex, and daughter, Danica. Outside of tennis, his interests include music, sports, skiing, animals and learning.
